Stories from outdoors
I worked for 15 years for the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich, following the start of my career at my hometown´s local newspaper, Spiegel online and the German Public Television ZDF. After my first trip to the North Pole I began specialising in issues surrounding snow and ice, but I was also interested in social issues. My publications have been honoured several times with journalist awards. Because I wish to spend less time in the office and more time outside, I now focus on my books – but when I come across interesting stories during my polar travels, I still write them down for the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
